In our journey through life, all of us will experience bumps, bruises, stuck points, and areas of difficulty or dysfunction. The fact is, we can’t do life alone – nor should we. And, sometimes we need professional help.

For most of us, this began by being born in a hospital and continues with our going to school, seeing doctors, dentists, personal trainers, physiotherapists, and so on.  Seeing a Mental health professional to realize greater well-being is no different.

Intentionally investing in your mental health and well-being may be one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.  And, the rewards of this work flow throughout the rest of your life, work, and relationships!

Since 2006, West Coast Counselling & Neurofeedback Clinic has worked extensively with individuals across the spectrum of mental health challenges including: mood disorders, past and/or recent trauma, PTSD, complex trauma (C-PTSD), Anxiety, Depression, phobias, relationship issues, family-of-origin issues, grief and loss, depth-oriented personal growth, and peak performance.  Every patient of West Coast Counselling & Neurofeedback can expect a holistic and collaborative therapy process tailored to their unique needs and goals that integrates the best of evidence-based psychology and the emerging neuroscience of well-being.

Counselling

At West Coast Counselling and Neurofeedback Clinic you will enjoy:

Experience: Having provided clinical neurofeedback training since 2005, David is one of the very few therapists in BC who is both trained and experienced in providing Neurotherapy and Clinical Counselling (either in combination or as stand alone modalities to optimize your well-being).

Assessment: You will have access to a ‘full cap’ 20 site clinical EEG assessment - mapping out the electrical patterns of your brain across your whole scalp.  This comprehensive assessment informs us of how best to train your brain with neurofeedback technology.

Multiple Systems: At West Coast Counselling and Neurofeedback Clinic we have different neurofeedback systems and can operate flexibly in order to provide you with the best possible training experience.  This includes personally tuned entrainment devices and HRV biofeedback.

Personalized Training in a Safe Environment:  At West Coast Counselling and Neurofeedback Clinic you are not passed off to a technician after your assessment or simply hooked up and left alone.  David will be with you throughout your training process - closely monitoring your EEG as you train, with the ability to change training protocols on the fly and as needed, as well as providing coaching and support.

Personal Statement

RCC-logo-Black+Grey.jpg

“It is a precious thing to be able to join and assist with the process of insight, healing, exploration and transformation which is so unique to each person. This is a responsibility and a sacred trust which I take very seriously.  As a counsellor, my priority is to ensure that my clients feel safe, understood, and skillfully supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental atmosphere. The person is never the problem – the problem is the problem.

My job often involves helping people to discover (or re-discover) their potential and the gifts and treasures within themselves and their worlds which have been blocked, overwhelmed, or silenced along the way. I love the creative process of co-developing personalized skills and strategies with my clients which can help them to break out of “stuckness” and break through (or work around) “blockages” in their lives.

It can be difficult to confront the pain, limitations, trauma/s, and/or self-defeating patterns which can keep us from our dreams or from feeling comfortable in our own skin; yet, I am continually amazed at the rewards of these courageous undertakings. I absolutely love this profession and plan to continue to counsel, teach, and learn about this wonder-full and messy thing we call life .. for the rest of my life".
